Regional Sales Manager, Southeast – Major Appliance Division- Field position within the Southeast US (location preference is the Atlantic Coast of Florida and/or near a major airport)

SUPERVISOR: 

North American Sales & Marketing Director, Major Appliance Division

 

JOB PURPOSE / TERRITORY: 

Manage and grow SMEGs sales and distribution network in the Southeastern US for the major appliance division (which includes independent appliance channel responsibility for the small domestic appliances).  Specific territory includes all and only the Eastern Seaboard states between North Carolina and Florida.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

This is a field leadership position requiring a skillful individual to manage and carefully, yet steadily, grow SMEGs major appliance division throughout the assigned territory reporting in directly to the New York office.  A ‘hands on’ approach is required to execute primary functions which include but are not limited to:

 

  • Account Management.  Includes all facets of account / relationship management for retail accounts. Execute activities that attract and engage specifiers, retailers and retail sales associates. Support retail display development and other point of sale initiatives;
  • Business Development. Deepen existing opportunities and increase new points of distribution / sales in the hospitality arena, multi-unit projects, builder / developer, custom home builder and, especially through the independent appliance retail channel; 
  • Product and Brand Training.  To evolve as the brand product expert working to inform, inspire and engage prospective / existing clients, trade specifiers and dealer sales associates;
  • Trade Channel Engagement.  Serve as the lead trade channel liaison introducing and reinforcing brand values with significant kitchen designers, commercial and residential architects / developers / builder and interior designers to increase sales conversion opportunities.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Associates degree required with a minimum of 4 years professional experience in relevant categories;
  • B2B / B2C experience in the luxury sector with proven sales ability, preferably in the appliance or kitchen design industry;
  • Previous territory sales management / training experience are mandatory;
  • Builder/developer/trade contacts in national association networks are a big plus.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • High degree of organization, efficient time management and superior interpersonal communication skills;
  • Ability to work independently, this is a solo position with no subordinate roles;
  • Technical aptitude and product knowledge in the appliance industry are highly preferred; 
  • Culinary passion with an ability and desire to conduct client facing product cooking presentations;

    OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Languages:  English.  Some Spanish is helpful;
  • Office or other equipment: Demonstrated capabilities using Microsoft suite (especially PowerPoint, Excel – Pivot Tables – Photo sharing programs);
  • Must possess a valid driver’s License;
  • Must be authorized to legally work in the U.S.

eCommerce and Digital Marketing Manager

JOB PURPOSE:              SMEG’s back-office is a boutique shop.  We are looking for a smart, experienced and passionate team player to join us to:  (1)  Manage and grow all aspects of SMEGs digital marketing program; and, (2) create and launch the brands entry into eCommerce. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

As DIGITAL MARKETING MANAGER, the candidate will be responsible for all content,  creative development for the entire website, social media accounts and online advertising;

  • Control, maximize and grow SMEG’s social media presence with the support of internal colleagues and the brands agency partner;
  • Create activities and promotions via innovative marketing and social campaigns to drive traffic to the site leveraging internal resources;
  • Maintain all online content, working in tandum with sales, service and operations to ensure accuracy and relevance;
  • Responsible for marketing and campaign planning for the webshop, communicating plans to internal audience.  Increase newsletter subscription base, setting a strategy for delivery and content, and tracking progress;

As ECOMMERCE MANAGER, the candidate will be responsible creating, launching and maintaining the brands B2C platform;

  • Lead the implementation of an Online Shop strategy, working closely with the Sales Operations team to integrate and grow the online direct sales channel, achieving the defined targets and driving profitable revenue.
  • Maintain all aspects of the online shop from catalog management and updates to transactional management and client-facing customer services efforts;
  • Create, run and maintain an evaluation system to ensure the team is operating to the mark with keen focus on client satisficaiton, stock availability, short and medium term objective anaysis;
  • Create and maintain systems that alert internal stakeholders of operational opportunities and challenges
  • Preside over the company’s marketing budget line items catering to this area in close consultation with the COO and Director.
  • Responsible for marketing and campaign planning for the Smeg USA webshops, communicating plans to the wider business.  Increase newsletter subscription base, setting a strategy for delivery and content, and tracking progress

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • BS / BA degree (marketing, business management, eCommerce) required with a minimum of 5 years professional experience in relevant categories;
  • B2C experience in consumer products or luxury sector with proven eCommerce and digital marketing;
  • Experience as an eCommerce Manager with a  proven record of growing online sales and driving revenue;
  • Prior experience lauching an eCommerce campaign preferred;

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • High degree of organization, efficient time management and superior interpersonal communication skills;
  • Ability to work independently, this is a solo position with no subordinate roles;
  • Superior written communication skills and proven track record creating consumer facing campaign that influenced purchasing decision.  Writing samples / portfolio will be required;
  • Technical aptitude and product knowledge in the appliance industry desired but not mandatory; 
  • Inquisitive mindset and ability / desire to read / connect to target consumer behavior, needs and purchasing power;
  • Self-starter and proactive working with internal / external stakeholders with experience building and maintaining business relationships;
  • A positive attitude and truly enthusiastic personality are a must.

  • Web / Cloud based template system expertise.
  • Divers License:  Yes.

ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position will require frequent sitting, remaining in a stationary position 70% of the time, talking, hearing, typing, looking at a computer screen 70% of the time, ability to identify and distinguish colors, ability to focus and have depth perception; ability to use hands/fingers to handle or feel; 30% of the time may/will require standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, carrying, pushing and lifting up to 40 lbs. The work environment is not quiet / noise level is high due to activity in the office / additional team members.

 

REQUIRED TRAVEL: 

Approximately 10%
