Last March Smeg participated for the first time in the Architectural Digest Home Design Show in New York. The show, now its 12th year, is one of the most important exhibitions in the home design industry and aims to introduce and explore the entire field of design, research and technological innovation.

More than 40,000 participants attended the show this year. The first day was dedicated to industry professionals while the following three days were also open to home design enthusiasts. Many customers, professionals and business partners visited the Smeg booth to check the selection of iconic design products that were exhibited. All guests had the privilege to taste delicious cupcakes, Italian cheese and Prosecco that Smeg served during the four-day show!

Smeg USA took the opportunity to launch 3 brand new free-standing gas ranges (24”, 30” and 36”) to the public at the show. These new pro-line ranges have been created specifically to encounter the taste of the American market. Designed and manufactured in Italy in top quality satin stainless steel, they incorporate large, professional style control knobs and a unique raised logo.

Two concept products were also exhibited: the FAB5 mini fridge, an under counter or on the counter fridge for drinks storage, ideal for homes, hotel rooms, offices, shops or university dorms as it runs in complete silence. The FAB5 mini fridge will be available in America from Fall 2013 in ten different colors: silver, cream, pastel green, lime green, pink, orange, red, black, blue and pastel blue.

The second concept model exhibited at the show was the Victoria range. Designed in Italy for the UK, measuring 43 1/2” wide, the Victoria stove offers 7 high performance gas burners, including an ultra-rapid burner perfect for wok cooking. It features a broil compartment, two oven compartments and a useful storage drawer. Smeg asked visitors to the show for feedback on this stove for a possible release in the US. Reactions were very positive so an adapted version in standard American dimensions will be introduced in 2014, and is likely to be available in glossy cream, black and red.

The show was a big success and Smeg USA perceived a common consent on the new products. Thanks to all those who attended!
