SMEG CONFIRMS THE SUCCESS OF MADE IN ITALY

23/04/2014

For another consecutive year Smeg was among the leading companies at Eurocucina, the most important trade fair in Europe for all things related to design, research and technological innovation in the kitchen. The ample 700m sq. Smeg stand enabled visitors to appreciate all the new products – over 120 new codes – introduced to the range. The stand this year was in fact designed to be much larger than in 2012, in order to fully display all of the new products and enhance the features.

Know-how, creativity and sophistication are the typical Italian design values that help to make Smeg distinctive, this combined with the company’s ongoing commitment to inject a soul into everyday objects. At the Salone del Mobile, Smeg introduced for the very first time the design concept of Dolce Stil Novoan aesthetic created to inspire, to enchant, marvel and wonder. A unique mix of luxury, taste and versatility that completely challenges pre-existing aesthetic and functional expectations to becomes the prerequisite of a stylish kitchen. The pan stands of Dolce Stil Novo hobs totally disappear to make way for birds, leaves, fruit and butterflies that transform the hob into a work of art. Smegs design capacity also subverts the traditional burners that in Dolce Stil Novo are transformed into a single ring of fire that saves up to 30% energy, by far the most important functional upgrade in a gas hob in recent times.

Smegs unique identity is not just down to cosmetics – cosmetic matters are simply an expression of the company’s original passion. It is, in fact, a precise element of Smegs Italian heritage - the elegance of design and creativity, the originality and quality of products. Like a faithful history from the country of style, Smeg appliances are objects that catalogue the evolution of taste and create relationships that go beyond practical needs. It is with this very spirit that the following products have been created: built-in high-performance refrigerators and wine cellars, designed for people who seek luxury in refrigeration, 2 built-in barbecues, new aesthetic lines and redesigns such as Victoria and Classic, the first of which has even resulted in a collection of . This particular project, a collaboration with Matteo Bazzicalupo and Raffaella Mangiarotti of deepdesign studio, testifies to the consolidated research efforts and the continued ability of Smeg to reinvent the past and fuse it with modern needs for functionality. With the launch of Small Appliances Smeg finds itself in a completely new market, and offers an aesthetic in which Italian style - in terms of technology and design - is expressed at its very best.
